Finance 2023/24

Sutton-on-Trent Parish Council is funded by an annual payment or precept from Newark and Sherwood District Council. The Parish Council must prepare a budget each year which will cover all necessary expenditure and ask the District Council for this money in the form of the precept. This precept is collected by the District Council via the Council Tax and is paid to the parish council in two six-monthly sums.

On an annual basis, the Parish Council has to prepare certain documents to comply with legislation and submit them for internal audit and then for external review by an appointed auditor, PKF Littlejohn.  

The accounts for the financial year ending 31st March 2024 were formally approved by the Parish Council at the 11th June meeting, following the completion of the internal audit, and submitted for external review. 

Under the Transparency Code 2015 the Parish Council is required to publish certain information regarding the Council's finances.  The documents relating to the last financial year 2023/24 can be viewed using the links below.

The External Audit has been complete, with no issues raised.  The External Auditor's Report can be accessed below, together with the Notice of Conclusion of Audit.
