The issue of speeding along the Great North Road is a topic that is raised at Parish Council meetings on a regular basis and is of concern to Councillors and all residents alike. The Council has repeatedly requested the speed detector van visit the area, but to date has been unsuccessful. The requests will continue to be made.

Community Speed Watch Groups in other villages in the area have been very successful. For example, the work of the volunteer group in Little Carlton has led to the detector van being deployed on the A616 and the group in South Muskham is also very active.

If you or anyone you know would be interested in joining such a group and receive training from the Police before heading out onto the village roads, the Parish Council would like to hear from you. Please email the Clerk at clerk@suttonontrent.org.uk with your contact details and further information will be provided if enough interest is shown in setting up a group.
